Photographed: 5/2005
The British Museum's Great Court is a 2 acre public
courtyard covered by a massive steel and glass roof. The 527 tons
(478 tonnes) of steel and 347 tons (315 tonnes) of glass took just
under one year to install. Completed in 2000, the "Queen
Elizabeth II Great Court" is now the largest covered public square in
Europe.
